The Supremes are one of the most iconic bands to come out of the American music scene in the 20th century. Hailing from Detroit, Michigan The Supremes was a girl group consisting of Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, and the legendary Diana Ross herself. The Supremes released hit after hit backed by the jewel of Detroit, Motown Records during a span of nearly twenty years. The Supremes are regarded to be a fundamental aspect of the progression of Black music history and the acceptance of people of color in the media mainstream.
