Biggie has been considered the "King of New York" since the iconic photoshoot of him wearing an elaborate crown in 1997. He was already well known in the city and it has been said that he was the King long before they even asked to take his pictures. 

Notorious B.I.G., or Biggie Smalls, is known as one of the greatest MCs of all time. He was the head of the East Coast Hip-Hop crew, alongside his New York-based label Bad Boy Records. Discovered by P Diddy in 1992, Biggie went on to write the hit songs "Juicy" and "Big Poppa". He was known for his wild antics, and he even signed someone onto his record label once while in bed with two women. Unfortunately, he was murdered in 1997 in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. Rumor has it that the murder had to do with his previous beef with Tupac, but the case still hasn't been solved to this day.
