Originally formed in 1986, Propagandhi initially struggled to break into the West Coast punk scene. Their far-left politically charged and inclusive lyrics paired with an activist approach clashed with the pre-existing punk culture that at its core was glaringly homophobic and misogynistic. The group's music influence in their earlier years had a more riot/skate-punk feel to it but would later evolve into a more industrial, heavy sound that perfectly complemented their edgy message. They have released 7 full-length albums since their formation, as well as countless resources alongside their music for fans to contribute to and become educated about various societal and political issues.
