“Choba B CCCP,” aka “The Russian Album,” was released exclusively in the Soviet Union for a few years before it was released everywhere else. It was a cover album of classic rock and roll songs meant to be a “gesture of peace” to the rapidly changing communist country. In reality, Paul McCartney wanted to make an album that seemed rare or unique to those that lived in the West.
