Released in 1978, "Bullet" was the Misfits' first EP and has since been celebrated as a testament to the band's true punk attitude and edgy sound. The track "Bullet" specifically featured lyrics referencing the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963 and aggressively sexually explicit messages to his widowed wife, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The band struggled to find a record label to release their full album, which included thirteen additional tracks, and the project was set aside until it was finally released nearly twenty years later- in 1996.
The Misfits are a band that pioneered goth-punk music in the 80s and are known for their horror theme and spooky lyrics. Their skull logo, also known as the Crimson Ghost, is popular worldwide and a huge symbol of the anarchist and ANTIFA movement. Even though they broke up in 1983, their music is still well known and loved today. Every day is Halloween when the Misfits are on.
