Mac Miller, born Malcolm James McCormick, was an American rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who rose to fame in the early 2010s. While his earlier work is considered to fall into a frat-rap category, his later musical expression called more on jazz and R&B influences and had lyrics that focused on heavier issues than hanging out and partying. Although he died tragically from an overdose in 2018, his musical legacy has stood strong and gone on to inspire millions around the world still to this day.
