In the larger-than-life collaboration between Kanye West and Kid Cudi, the two explore themes of mania, broken relationships and the freedom of being a loner. Since 2008, the two have filled a similar lone wolf role in the hip-hop community, topping pop charts and occasionally collab-ing in the late ‘00s. But their creative differences, Cudi being more drawn to the psychedelic sounds and Kanye being drawn more to rockstar-dom, separated the two until Kids See Ghosts. But the project was worth the wait as it was met with widespread acclaim for combining the two’s unique styles into a powerful but small package.
