Legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix was at the height of his career with the release of his third and final studio album “Electric Ladyland.” It would peak at number one on United States Billboard a month after its release. Still, at the time, many critics disparaged the album for its over-indulgent solos and chaotic experimentation. But in hindsight, the release was praised for its adept fusion of muddy-river blues and trippy psychedelia. Most remembered for the Bob Dylan cover of “All Along the Watchtower,” the song would be the most popular of the album and in Hendrix’s entire discography. Much chaos surrounded Hendrix and the band during the creation of this album, but ultimately Hendrix’s perfectionism and work ethic pulled together a modern classic.
