Katsushika Hokusai lived from 1760 to 1849 and is most well known for his Ukiyo-e, a Japanese art using wooden blocks for printing. He is thought to have produced over 30,000 different prints during his career that depicted Japanese legends, traditions, and daily life. Mount Fuji was often the subject of his work, and his most famous series is "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji".
