Gojira is a phenomenal heavy metal band from France that gained international attention during their infamous opening performance for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Formed as Godzilla in 1996, the band experienced some shifts in their lineup and readjusted their name to Gojira in 2001. They are known most notably for their experimental sounds and lyrics pertaining to environmental, social, and political issues.

After facing many roadblocks and hesitations from recording studios and label managers, the band realized that their own success would be contingent on their ability to carve their own path to the top of the charts. As of 2024, Gojira has released over five full-length studio albums.
