No need to stock up ahead of time, because your favorite New Orleans smoke shop will have an on-site storefront.
After a pandemic-induced hiatus in 2020 and 2021, the popular BUKU Music + Art Project returns to celebrate its tenth anniversary and delight fans of the New Orleans electronic dance music scene. The festival will take place on Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26, going from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on each day.
About BUKU
Deriving its name from the French word beaucoup, BUKU Music + Art Project features lots of live music, local art, world-renowned food vendors, cool installations, and a very special venue.
The event combines all the elements of an outdoor festival (cross your fingers for perfect spring weather) with the grit of a warehouse-rave vibe.
BUKU celebrates the lesser-known and usually less visible music culture of New Orleans, electronic music. Electronica, indie, hip-hop, and everything in between will be on display this year, and the lineup will include both homegrown talent and artists from all over the country: Tame Impala, Flo Milli, Alison Wonderland, $uicide Boy$, Glass Animals, Kali Uchis, Lane 8, Liquid Stranger, Trippie Redd, and Tyler, the Creator -- more than sixty artists in all.
If you haven't yet been to BUKU, you're in for a treat. Mardi Gras World is a sprawling warehouse by the Mississippi River. At any time of the year, you can tour its vast space crammed with floats and history, a must-see if you want to learn about Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Then, during BUKU, the warehouse turns into the perfect spot for a rave. When it's sunny, you can head outside to the riverfront stage, then dash back in if the weather turns inclement.
BUKU is more than music. Beaucoup local vendors will be providing New Orleans cuisine and classic festival fare, including vegetarian options. You'll also be able to see notable local and visiting graffiti artists painting live installations.
Enjoy BUKU to the Fullest
To attend the festival, you must be 17 or older and have a valid government-issued ID; IDs are checked at the gate. You must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol. These rules are strictly enforced.
To view the lineup, stay up to date with the latest festival info and news, and activate your wristband (but only after "you have read these instructions and are on your way to BUKU!"), download the BUKU app from the Apple Store or the Google Play Store.
Reentering the festival is not allowed unless you have a VIP ticket, so please keep this in mind. But why leave when Mushroom New Orleans will have all of your go-to smoke shop items you might find yourself needing while there?
Your favorite New Orleans smoke shop will be at BUKU!
As the general store of the BUKU festival, Mushroom New Orleans will be selling tobacco and vaping products, including cigarettes, cigars, disposable vapes, and nicotine salt e-juices. We will also be offering sunscreen, headache medicine, feminine care products, rain ponchos, sunglasses, backpacks, and fanny packs.
See you at the festival!
