Judge Dredd is a law enforcement and judicial officer in a future dystopian city that covers most of the east coast of North America. He is a "street judge" known to arrest, convict, sentence, and execute criminals. Metal’s strong bond with the world of comics has endured for decades now, but it’s hard to argue against the most significant crossover of all being Anthrax’s song "I Am The Law," a tribute to Judge Dredd. Anthrax is still playing the song at every show and sees no reason to stop.
Anthrax is a metal band from New York City that formed in the early 1980s. The group is considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene from that era and is part of the "Big Four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. Anthrax is one of the bands responsible for the emergence of speed metal as well. The band exhibited a typical thrash metal sound on their albums and are known for humor and comic book references in the lyrics. They continue to tour and make music today.
